Motivational Speaking Event
I was out until 1 am last night with two cool ladies from ACN for a motivational speaking event near airport. My brain was so motivated I couldn't sleep or perhaps the result of energy drink. Now need to set myself a new goal, new motivation, my new "why", need to take action on health, spirituality (more alcohol - oh that spirits) business, friends, relationship (new/old) travel, and etc. wow, am still feeling the buzz from last nights energy drink... Life is good!

Memorial gathering for my father in-law
We had a memorial gathering for my father in-law yesterday. The weather was very warm. It was held at their well-groomed backyard with blooming flowers. When each family delivered Dad's life memories - the birds were rejoicing and celebrating. It was attended by family, friends, neighbors and colleagues. Indeed, a pleasant way to commemorate Dad's life. His life was truly inspiring, from Milwaukee to California, to Madison and back to California where they settled in Mill Valley since 1972. He was a good provider, a world traveler, and a successful businessman. He showed unconditional love to his family both in California and Wisconsin. He will be missed, tremendously.

When family patriarch is gone
Today is the saddest day for me and the G family for the family patriarch had passed away. He was distinguished, well-respected, intelligent, yet down to earth man that I've known and enjoyed to interact with. He was the epitome of a fine gentlemen - with his caring, loving nature and positive attitude that he exudes to his family. He was truly a father figure to me and we'll miss him tremendously.
I met my husband because of this wonderful man. He brought his son with him while he was looking for an overseas construction company who deploys contract workers to middle east. That was where I worked and my supervisor asked that I would be the tour guide for his son. I asked my supervisor if they want the contract or both because jokingly I said that I could seal both deals. Two weeks had passed after his son left and surprisingly I got a message. The security guard who informed me about the call announced my name as Ms. G- and that was the beginning.
Today, I am grieving for he was a part of my life that became who and where I am now. I thank the G family for taking me in unconditionally, for their unselfish love and support all these years. My sincerest gratitude...I remain.

California Academy of Sciences and Beach Blanket Babylon
Our friends Pat and Ben from LA are here for their friends wedding that Ben is officiating. Pat bought tickets for Beach Blanket Babylon and I have two tickets for CAS.
We started late around noon because of my pre-occupied morning rituals. We had lunch at the ilpostale.com in downtown Sunnyvale. A quaint and cozy restaurant that serves a variety of delicious entrees plus they have a good selections of vegetarian that we all enjoyed. Pat & I opted for Fresh vegetable sandwich: Grilled vegetables, portabella mushrooms, and spinach with Italian vinaigrette on foccacia. Served with pasta salad. While Ben had Penne with asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, roasted eggplant, and black olives in garlic, olive oil, and basil pesto. After lunch we were all ready to take a nap but we couldn't because we're on our way to SFO. The Cal Academy visit was not what I was expected but it turned out okay. After the Academy off we go to an early dinner so we could get a better seats at BBB so we found a parking 10 feet from the show. We peruse the nearby bistros and ended up at Michaelangelo's. The food was good, the service was excellent and we stayed there until the show start. The theater started lining us up at 8:15 out while drizzling so I caught a little sniffling. We all enjoyed the show especially their gigantic hairs - it was hilarious and I laughed from the beginning until the end. We had a problem finding our way home so it took us awhile. Both Ben and I had dead iphones so we couldn't use the map to lead us home. Oy vey...

Well spent time with nephew and son
It was good to have my nephew and his son spent over the weekend. Hanging out with smart and energetic 7 year old was quite fun and exhausting. We played wii sports - he was good at it. It was fun until I started winning and getting used to the game specially bowling, then he said no more fun and do not want to play anymore. We went out and saw Monsters vs. Aliens while my nephew and his buddy saw the Vin Diesel's Fast and Furious which I recommended. My grandnephew asked for nachos and a drink while I had popcorn and drink that cost $24 bucks not including the movie tickets. How expensive to go to movies nowadays but it was well worth it cause I get to spend some time with my grandnephew. After the movie - he mentioned that my sister promised him 10 toys. I bought him 3 toys and asked that his grandma give him the rest of the money for 7 toys. With my limited budget - I could not splurge and spend money I do not have. I have given a few painting to my nephew and also a bedcovers for him and his son.

Money is the root of all evil and the death of a relationship
I've noticed over the years that people changed when money is involved - when money is tight -relationship and business suffers, when there's death and money is involved, there's non-stop lawsuit that in the end nobody wins.
For instance, a family friend had died suddenly while vacationing. He left one of his only daughter and his 2nd wife plus 3 kids from her previous marriage. He and 2nd wife have been married for 15 years. He died without a will but he promised to his daughter that when he dies, his life insurance goes only to her. We all knew that he loved and adored his daughter and her three grandkids. It shows when he talks about them, he's beaming with pride and so lovingly and joyfully remembers all the good times with them. He was always positive, happy and full of wit.
The widow asked my opinion on how much I think is good amount to give to her step-daughter. I suggested that at least 1/3 of his asset because she has to deduct some expenses when she sells the house, plus life insurance and his retirement. So she agreed and accepted my suggestion - unfortunately she changed her mind after seeing the lawyer because after he said if there's no will - she as the legal wife would be the sole beneficiary. Of course we all know that he will bequeath some inheritance to his daughter and grandkids after his death - only problem he did not leave a written will or note before he died.

5 Day Cleanse with vitamins and minerals
I just finished my 5 day cleanse started Monday and ended yesterday. Now, I am back to eating healthy and incorporating running/walking for 45 minutes 3x a week, plus sculpting 3x a week would help. After the cleanse, I felt lighter and have more energy and hopefully continue this healthy habit for good. I aim to lose the body fat and gain more lean muscle for better health and stamina. With the work I do, I need to be in shape, spiritually, physically and mentally.
